Important practical notice
It is important to note that while we do enjoy having our windows open in South Africa, this is actually not helpful when trying to cool a room. When windows and doors are kept close then the air conditioning unit will work at its best. Many times repairs are the result of over worked air conditioners because of these conditions. It is best to air your room in the mornings when things are cooler and then air condition them later in the day as it warms up.
